Abigail Scharton found her passion for DJing and promotional sales as a volunteer DJ, her freshman year, with Indiana State’s student-led radio station WZIS FM. The opportunities didn’t stop there for Scharton, now a junior, as her and other student DJs won best college station in the nation at the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System annual conference in New York City. Being a part of WZIS FM has helped Scharton relax when on air, and grow out of her nervous phase that “Freshman Abi” experienced. It has also helped her find what she wants to do in life and gain friends who have become family. Scharton has no regrets in choosing Indiana State as the university that has opened doors for her that cannot be shut.
