Breeze Keppy fell in love with Indiana State University years before she was old enough to apply.
When she finally had the chance to step on campus as a prospective student, Keppy knew she was home.
“When I took my first tour, everyone on campus was so friendly and welcoming, which made a huge impact on me,” she said. “I knew that I wanted to attend a school with a strong nursing program and opportunities to grow as an individual, and I honestly could not have made a better choice. ISU truly is my home away from home.”
A native of Paris, Ill., Keppy wasted no time getting involved on campus. As a sophomore, she is the Director of Communications for Welcome Team, a University Honors Scholar, a member of Zeta Tau Alpha, a Residential Life Academic Success Educator, and a member of the Student Alumni Association.
“By attending Indiana State University, I have had the opportunity to not only attain an education, but to also establish networks and contacts in my chosen career,” she said. “ISU has allowed me to learn the importance of giving back and serving my community, a value that I will now cherish forever. I have continued to receive the necessary knowledge and skills that will allow me to build relationships, care for others, and provide an inclusive environment as a future nurse practitioner.”
State is the first stepping stone toward Keppy’s dream of improving the lives of others, providing care and consolation to people in need and continuing to grow personally and professionally.
“I aspire to be the one who cares for patients, helps improve their quality of life and provides comfort and compassion to others,” she said. “My ultimate goal is to become a travel nurse practitioner so that I can offer care to more patients and specialize in areas such as pediatrics and mental health.”
