Kate Hinshaw

Sycamore art graduate Kate Hinshaw, ’18 (2D arts) shares how her college internship opportunity led to her love of event coordinating. Kate now works at the Indianapolis Art Center as an event coordinator. She picked up a ceramics class there and “fell in love.”

Now, it’s predominately how she spends her free time.

Kate does everything from throwing the clay to drawing (retro-inspired) intricate designs and painting the ceramics with bright “happy” colors.

Kate started her own small business, Studio K8 Art, at the beginning of the pandemic as an outlet during the uncertain time. She says her work and audience have only grown since then.
